Managing Employee Leaves of Absence and Time Off Requests

(In Person and Virtual Attendance available)

What should employers do when an employee says “I need a leave of absence,” or “I’m too stressed to work”? Are employers required to provide leave to new hires who are pregnant? Can employers condition leave requests on a doctor’s note? Do SDI and PFL provide protected time off?

Employee leave requests can be confusing, particularly in California, where rules sometimes overlap. We will provide helpful guidance for HR professionals to understand when leave rules are triggered, how to manage employee leave requests, employees’ obligations concerning requesting a leave of absence, and more.
