Privacy in Perspective: What You Need to Know to Comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act
The employment and job applicant exemption to the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) – the first-in-the-nation comprehensive data privacy law – ended on January 1 of this year when CCPA amendments creating additional consumer rights (including for employees) went into effect. Additionally, new regulations to the CCPA went into effect on March 29 and the California Consumer Privacy Agency will start its own enforcement (on top of already-existing enforcement by the California Attorney General) on July 1. This presentation will put California’s rapidly changing consumer privacy landscape in perspective and answer your foundational questions about the law, highlight what your business needs to do to be compliant with the most recent changes, and explore compliance strategies for moving forward.
