The objective of this session is to inform attendees of common pitfalls associated with COBRA compliance. To refresh on some COBRA regulations and rules that are commonly misunderstood or overlooked by Group Health Plan administrators. Become aware of how and why many Group Health Plans unknowingly fall out of compliance with COBRA and learn what to expect when EBSA becomes involved. To apprise of any potential updates regarding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on COBRA compliance. 


Benefits Advisor Sarah Guerricagoitia started with the Social Security Administration in 2018 as a Benefits Authorizer after graduating from the University of Missouri Kansas City with a degree in Interpersonal Communications. Ms. Guerricagoitia transitioned to her current position as a Benefits Advisor in the Kansas City Regional Office Outreach Education and Assistance unit in 2019.
