President's Message

Once a year, the National NHRA Board recognizes An Affiliate of the Year.  Criteria includes quality programming, professional development such as HRCI accreditation and scholarships, membership growth and retention, and best in class practices.  We are still beaming in St. Louis with the news of receiving the Affiliate of the Year Award!  Many thanks to our members, guests and the wonderful volunteers who help us continue to raise the bar in St. Louis. 

It is rare that the same affiliate receives more than one of the four annual awards that the National Board grants.  This year, the St. Louis affiliate received two.  The nationally-recognized, Corporate Partner of the Year honor was awarded to the St. Louis Post Dispatch.  The Post has been a steadfast supporter of the NHRA for several years and is one of our annual sponsors this year.  We are greatly appreciative for their continued support. 

Kalyn Brantley-McNeal, is mid-way through her second consecutive year of leading our SPHR/PHR Certification classes.  We look forward to celebrating this professional milestone achievement with many of our members who are preparing to certify in December.  Andrea Nothum is also in her second year of leading an important professional development initiative as she organizes and rolls out the 2009 scholarship award program.  This year, we will award two $1000 scholarships to local HR students.  More information to come! 

So, as you can see, we have much to celebrate.  Mostly, we celebrate you – our members, guests, presenters, sponsors and volunteers!  We wish you the very best this Holiday Season.
