About NHRA
Established in 1951, the National Human Resources Association (NHRA) is a network of local affiliates focused on advancing the development of human resource professionals. Through programs and services offered across the country, NHRA strives to support human resource professionals throughout their career life cycle - from intern to executive - as Human Resources leads the way for change in today's businesses. The misson of the NHRA Board is to serve and support our affiliates in providing networking forums and professional development for their members. The human resources profession has changed dramatically in the past century. Gone are the days when HR's primary functions were hiring, policing and paper pushing. In today's dynamic workplace, human resource professionals are expected to add value to their organizations. In addition to managing traditional human resource functions, HR is expected to contribute to such key organizational challenges as facilitating mergers and acquisitions, improving productivity and quality, improving the ability of an organization to bring new products to market, and to continuously improve the company's return on its greatest asset...its people. Let NHRA be your career partner...together we can lead the way to the future of human resources! PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Dear Human Resources Colleagues, It is with sincerity and enthusiasm that I accept the opportunity as President of the National Board of Directors. Senior thought leaders in strategic human resources and across industry insist an organization’s competitive strength is based upon the strength of its bench of talent. The talent of our bench is outstanding and it is an honor to be part of. Over the past year, having Denise Figueiredo as our steward, with Charlie Dichirico, Sue Murphy, Page Daggett, and Patti Kallander, leading us on the Executive Committee, is something for which we are all truly grateful. Their energy, professionalism and dedication are unmatched. We have all benefited to be sure. Affiliate Presidents have worked very hard in building the respective Boards, grooming membership, strengthening programs and services. Special appreciation goes to the Los Angeles Affiliate Board. Your dedication and friendship goes beyond words. Each & every Committee and Board member, and, the membership as a whole, continues to grow as we Connect, Lead and Excel. It is evident the strength & passion of the members, who, in fact, are the Committees, Leadership and Board, established a very successful foundation for our future. Affiliate members continue to drive excellence in programming, support resources, strategic networking and benchmarks respected throughout business. Stakes have never been higher in our contribution to the business world. Our own succession plan is a continual process of mining talent. Success breads confidence, not necessarily the reverse. As each member succeeds in their own personal and professional development, others notice. As they notice, they become involved, attracting talent themselves. Experiencing what the National Human Resources Association provides members, success is imminent. I look forward to meeting as many of the members as possible. Those of you who know me personally may be chuckling knowing I may actually pull that off… With a rich history of success, our very best years are ahead; the National Human Resources Association is the place to be to succeed. You have my personal and professional commitment to help each of us do just that. Warm Regards, Brian Brian Barry |
